Do I own my website?

Yes. Your domain, content, and brand are always yours, and the design and build become yours once the Design & Development fee is paid in full. There is no long-term contract.

What you own outright

Your domain is yours, always. It’s registered to you, not to True Mtn, and it stays that way for as long as you own it. We handle the DNS and technical configuration so you never have to think about it, but the registration itself lives in your account, which also means keeping it renewed is on you.

Your content and your brand are yours too: the copy, the photos you provide, your logo, and everything that makes the site sound and look like your business.

The design and the build, the actual site you click through, become yours once the Design & Development fee is paid in full. If you pay it upfront, that happens at launch. If you split it over 12 months, it happens the day that split is paid off.

Your site also runs on WordPress, the platform that powers over 40% of the web, not a proprietary builder you can never leave. You get a DIY page editor for day to day edits plus full WordPress access underneath it, so there’s no hostage code holding you here.

What the monthly subscription actually is

The Platform & Hosting subscription isn’t rent on your website. It’s the system your site runs on: premium cloud hosting tuned for WordPress, Cloudflare’s enterprise CDN and edge protection, daily backups in two locations, weekly software updates, 24/7 uptime monitoring, spam protection, reliable lead delivery, and your tier’s tools. Assembling that yourself would run $200+/mo in licenses alone, before you spent a single evening maintaining it. Your monthly Site Health Report shows exactly what the subscription did: uptime, threats blocked, backups completed, leads delivered.

It’s also month-to-month. There’s no minimum term and no long-term contract, just 30 days’ notice if you ever decide to leave.

When ownership transfers

Every proposal has exactly two numbers on it. The Design & Development fee pays for the tailored design and the build itself. The Platform & Hosting subscription pays for the system that keeps that build running.

Ownership of the design and build follows the Design & Development fee. Pay it in full before development begins and it’s yours at launch. Split it over 12 equal monthly payments instead, with no interest and no credit check, and it becomes yours the day that final payment clears. Either way, the payment plan is just that: a plan for work already delivered, not a contract that keeps you tied to us. We keep clients by being worth keeping, not by locking the door.

What happens if you leave

If you ever move to your own hosting or decide to self-manage, the site itself goes with you. What doesn’t come with it are the premium plugin and software licenses the site runs on. Those are licensed to True Mtn, not to you and not to the site, and while you’re on a Platform & Hosting subscription we cover all of them for you as part of that monthly fee.

Cancel or move off our hosting and none of those licenses transfer. You’d need to license the equivalents yourself, in your own name and at your own expense, starting with your own hosting. Depending on your plan that typically means managed hosting, CDN and security, SMTP email delivery, forms, SEO, caching, malware protection and spam filtering, uptime monitoring, your page builder, and on Core, privacy compliance, SMS alerts, and automation tools, plus the licensed stock imagery used across the site. That’s a general picture of what’s involved, not a final list, since every site ends up a little different. When you do cancel, we’ll give you the exact list for your site so you can set up your own licensing without guessing.

That’s the honest shape of “you own your site”: you own the site itself, permanently and completely, once it’s paid for. You just don’t automatically own the tools currently keeping it running for you, the same way canceling a software subscription doesn’t hand you the software.
